35 days to go. I'm starting to remember the pain...

Monday, August 10, 2009

@ 33 weeks along things are really starting to get cramped & I'm not just talking about my legs ughhh! I have been lucky enough to not have heartburn, at all. The clumsiness is something else though. We have a name we think we like, and are excited for him to arrive. I am having trouble with sleeping, between not being able to lay on my tummy or my back, having to choose between my right or my left sides. Actually, fully waking up to switch sides every 2 or so hours, because he settles in my RIBS and I wake up from the pain (it feels like my ribs are bruised). I also fully wake up to jump out of bed because of the leg cramps, which are just out of this world. The braxon hix have set in. I have had a few that stop me from walking or talking. Now, I am still unsure what to expect, Justin and Brianna were both induced, the doc had to break my water and all. Scheduled births, thats right, no surprises. lol

I am starting to get worried, I wasn't working when I had Justin or Brianna, and Brian was by my side nearly all the time. Now, I work 2 days a week and located in the next town from the hospital I plan to have this little boy. How does one get to the hospital if they are having contractions? Uhhh! Brian did point out he will be off school for the 3 weeks before we are due. Still.

I have all of a sudden remembered the pain. Haha. Not that falling down the stairs twice was pain enough, or how about a root canal with no meds? I just know how to do it to myself! The pain, I guess partly my fault for not taking the meds the docs offer. Oh well. All is better for mommy and baby without.

With all the fears also comes excitement. What  (who) will he look like? What will he turn out like? What will it be like to have a baby around ALL the time again? Will we be sure not to 'favor' the baby? How will life change as we know it.

We have had a TON of fun buying baby things. Got a nice over-the-internet-only car seat from Babies-r-us. Got the sweetpeace swing (WOW). We still need a couple things, one is a baby monitor. What kind will we get. I want one that maybe transmits both ways (if they make one) and/or the video one. Craigslist is my friend :)

So, this time I really did it. I fell down the stairs AGAIN at the house. Last time it was 1/2 a flight, ending in a broken big toe. THIS time it was an entire flight, thought I may have broken my arm! I didn't and now I can use my hand, but man last night I was in a whole lot of pain! I instantly took 3 tylonal, not that it really helped. Those braxton hix picked up, I have been having them through-out the day, even getting so tight I can't walk through them. After this though, I had 4 or 5 within half an hour. Drank 32 oz of water and laid on my left side for an hour (per my nurse of a sister). I hope I can start getting a grip on this walking thing!

October 1st is creeping up on us pretty fast. . . . so many mixed emotions. Not much room left inside for this little guy, and this pregnancy is SO different than Justin or Brianna! I think we have come up with a name we all like. Getting ready for him has been exciting, the crib, the carseat, the clothes (garage sales...) the bottles... Justin and Brianna are waiting and waiting... seems so long for them I'm sure.

Once my tummy got too big to see my feet the first thing I did was fling myself down a flight of stairs. Broke my big toe, limped around for a few weeks. Duh. I find myself running into walls, loosing my balance just standing in one spot and having to write EVERYTHING down or the pregnancy brain kicks in. Lots of new pains and pressures going on, trying to explain things to Brian, like how the baby moving feels on the inside. LOL. Things will be changing so soon, and we can't wait to meet the new addition to our family.
